Five dead, three injured in rice mill fire triggered by dryer explosion in UP’s Bahraich
Five workers lost their lives and three others were injured after a massive fire broke out at a rice mill in the Bahraich district on Friday. The fire reportedly took place because of a sudden dryer explosion at Rajgarhiya Foods located in the Dargah area, as per a report by ANI. Authorities rushed to the scene following the emergency call, and rescue operations were carried out quickly by the fire department.
According to Fire Officer Vishal Gond, it was noticed that smoke was coming out from the mill’s dryer system. ”I received information that a fire broke out at Rajgarhiya Foods. We sent two fire tenders. We noticed smoke coming from the dryer. Eight people climbed up to check the reason…they became unconscious because of the smoke. They were brought out by the firefighting team and sent to the hospital. Five of them have died and three are under treatment, ”he stated to ANI.
UP CM’s reaction on the incident
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his deep grief over the incident. In a social media post, he extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and has ordered the district administration to ensure that proper treatment is provided. He has also wished a speedy recovery to the injured people.
Medical Superintendent Dr M M Tripathi, from the local Community Health Centre, confirmed that eight victims were brought in after the incident. ”Five were declared dead on arrival. The other three are stable and undergoing treatment,” he stated, as quoted by ANI.
A local labourer who witnessed the tragic incident described the panic situation. ”Suddenly, there was a fire in the dryer. One person went up to check and fell inside. Others got trapped as the flames spread,” he mentioned. Efforts have been on to completely douse the fire, and authorities are probing the reason behind the incident.
